Coffee Road Trip

Idaho

I'm the first one to admit, I don't know much about Idaho. Did you know that it's home to the deepest river gorge in North America, Hell's Canyon? Well, now you do.

From the Gem State, I wound up choosing Doma, a coffee roaster out of Post Falls, ID. The first coffee I tried from Doma is a Guatemala medium roast. It strikes a good balance between acidity and nutty roastiness, with just a little bitterness. Any more on the "dark side" and I wouldn't like it too much, but it threads the needle pretty well.

The second coffee I tried is called Carmela's Blend. It's also a solid medium roast, but trespasses a little farther on the bitter side than I prefer. But it has nice chocolatey undertones which I appreciate.
